Rotary Garden
thingiverse
This is my first attempt at the 1970's era NASA project where they created a rotary hydroponics unit. The original idea was to reduce space needed to grow plants. I personally like the idea because it looks cool. All connections are done with 20mm M3 bolts and you will need to adapt the rollers to fit your container. The ring is comprised of 7 sections. I designed this to fit the Aerogarden plant capsules, they are readily available and you can use their nutrient solution. The grow light was one I purchased off amazon. It has a built in timer and dimmer. My objective is to make this project attainable to all. The motion will be through a 7 rpm gear motor (mount yet to be designed as I"m using a different system for the prototype). The motor can be fine tuned using a voltage step down circuit. The goal is to have it rotate once every 35-45 minutes. This is very much in the prototype phase so bear with me as I make adjustments.
With this file you will be able to print Rotary Garden with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Rotary Garden.
