Rotary Fidget
thingiverse
You're receiving this fidget from Nalan Engine LLC. This is my first creation, and I hope it's not the last one. It utilizes three 8x4 miniature ball bearings, each measuring 3x in diameter. Inside the flywheels are three 20-crown nuts (10.8 hex by 7.6 tall), providing extra inertia. Print two flywheels and two thumb knobs, de-burr them, then place the nuts inside the flywheels and glue the halves together using ABS-friendly CA glue. Install the bearings, shaft, and thumb knobs. I took apart a server fan and discovered it has two 3x8x4 ball bearings and a 3mm diameter, 32 mm long shaft. The fidget should spin for approximately 30-35 seconds. When held between your thumb (bottom) and index (top) fingers, giving it a good spin, lifting up your index finger, and letting it rest on the thumb only, it'll start to precess, which is cool to watch. Happy printing! Don't forget to check out my website and awesome printers at www.nalanengine.com. Visit YouTube for more information: https://youtu.be/N19Vf9UxbMc and https://youtu.be/BsHcD4Qpp74.
