Rostock mini - customised
thingiverse
I've been considering building the Rostock mini for some time now but wanted to revamp certain components first. Inspired by Victor's printable base plate at thingiverse.com/675477, I have started working on my own adaptation. Also showcased are some concept designs for motor ends to conceal bolts and hardware as well as an extended printable base plate. I've made the following updates: Ramps 1.4 base: On request, a Ramps 1.4 base and an adapted foot riser have been added. Update April 3, 2015 > I've also included a base plate for a Ramps 1.4 controller as well as a modified 15mm tall foot with a simple jig saw style connection to the ramps plate. A LCD enclosure was also added, which needs two holes drilled into the bottom frame pieces – see photo. Update March 11, 2015 > Due to the original 20mm base foot being too large, I've added both 15 and 10 mm versions instead. Update March 10, 2015 > The rest of my reworked parts have been uploaded. All of them have been printed out and a dry run is currently running on it (see video). It became clear that the Ramps board cannot be fitted comfortably under the standard base height, so I've added 20mm feet. I'm utilizing an end effector from thingiverse.com/318685 in this project. Watch the dry run on YouTube at youtu.be/13fSS7Sio0M Update February 27 >> Printed out and uploaded STL files for a motor carrier with concealed nut trap and extension base plate, which all work well together.
