Introducing a more portable, desktop-friendly version of Johann's Rostock Delta 3D Printer, featuring key improvements in its parametric design with a laser-cut frame that accommodates desired print bed dimensions. A new extruder design will soon be published as well. For further details, build notes and other information, visit the RepRap wiki at http://reprap.org/wiki/Rostock_mini. Stay tuned for more updates in the coming weeks. An update on 11.11.12 reveals that there are issues with the bowden extruder designed due to weak-sauce push-fit pneumatic fittings. A redesign using better tube setup is underway, and once verified in a couple of weeks, more details and the extruder as a separate design will be posted. On 12.09.12, a new bowden design was completed but requires further testing for optimal performance. The latest update on 12.16.12 introduces v2 files for hotend_v2.stl and experimental extruder.stl with OpenSCAD source files in source_v2.zip. These changes eliminate the unreliable pneumatic push-fit fittings and replace them with 4mm OD PTFE tubing and M4 nuts threaded on each end. To get a better understanding of how everything fits together, start with the rostock_mini.scad source file included here and refer to the build notes available at the wiki page for more information.
