Rostock Max v3 Case Enhancements for Enclosure Heating
thingiverse
This collection is designed to help an enclosure like this (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1796438) reach its highest temperature without damaging printer electronics. An active heating system that circulates hot air from a hair dryer into the enclosure has also been developed, making these modifications even more essential. If you're enclosing your Rostock Max V3, it's crucial to seal all vents leading from the interior of the enclosure into the top and bottom electronic bays. After taping over the vents near the build area, I needed a way to cover them up attractively. The vent plugs and thumb plug for access to the heated bed are included in this collection. This also means relocating the RAMBo cooling fan. I chose to print a cover and position it elsewhere. When actively heating my enclosure began, I replaced the stock 40mm fan with an 80mm fan. Both covers are included in this collection. With all vents into the bottom electronic bay sealed, additional ventilation is required through the vented side cover. The heated bed was also removed, and the back of the bed was insulated with foil-backed insulation and foil tape. Keep your insulation thin due to limited space. Finally, a side panel featuring a USB port and keyhole-shaped cable pass-through was created. This panel attaches to the top on the same side as the power input, providing an external USB port for firmware updates, etc. I use this port to connect my Raspberry Pi, which sits atop my printer.
