It's a versatile sleeve that easily snaps into the 1" opening where hot end, extruder, and layer fan wires are routed through. The heat shrink tubing provided with the kit didn't quite shrink enough to stay securely above the hole, so it has slipped slightly downward since then. To address this issue, I plan to add some split loom on top for added protection. To print this sleeve, use ABS material but PLA should also work well. Print at a 1:1 scale with the lipped side facing down against the hotplate. Since I didn't require any support during printing and encountered no issues, you can follow suit. You can install the sleeve from either the top or bottom of the machine; I chose to install it from below to avoid disassembling the machine. Simply position the lipped edge on the top surface so it doesn't fall through the hole, and that's all there is to it.
