Rostock Max V2 Onyx heatbed bolt spacer arm
thingiverse
I've been modifying my Rostock Max V2's Onyx heatbed by adding an aluminum heat spreader above and extra insulation below. The heat spreader offers us more flexibility when it comes to how flat the slightly flexible Onyx bed needs to be, while the additional insulation requires some adjustments to how the bed attaches to the base. After messing around with bolts and washers for about half an hour or so, I threw up my hands in frustration and said there must be a better way to do this. Here's my solution. These arms are 150mm long on center, matching the same spacing as the Rostock Max V2 bolt holes, so they should fit nicely together underneath the bed and provide a clear guide for the screws attaching the bed to the base to go through. They're 10mm tall, making them about twice as tall as the washers that came with the Rostock; I'm estimating roughly the same height as the original washers plus an extra spacer.
