Rostock Max V2 Microswitch z-probe magnetic mount
thingiverse
I've been using FSRs for a year as my zprobe, but they just didn't work as well after much tweaking. I've looked at other various zprobes, including the newest IR ones that didn't work with my PEI bed. The hall-o effect probe seemed too complicated, so I was too lazy to build it. Having a ton of cheap microswitches on hand, I did a quick build on a mount for one. It works quite well with 626pilot's firmware on the smoothieboard. There are three pieces you need to print: three 4.8mm magnet M3-5 footers that mount to the effector plate arms using short M3 screws; three 4.8 #6-10 pieces that attach to the top of the microswitch platform using #6 screws - I used US screws because I had a bunch on hand, and getting metric screws can be a pain sometimes; and one microswitch lower platform. You'll also need six 3/16" cube N48 magnets. I bought mine cheaply from Amazon, but you can also find them on eBay.
