Rostock Max V2 Layer fan shroud large 50mm
thingiverse
The original fan of the Rostock Max V2 is slightly undersized to effectively cool down PLA layers. Seeking a better solution, I ordered three 50mm fans with a 15x20mm large intake from 3DWare.ch. A portion of the original shroud was utilized and additional geometry was added to accommodate the blower fan. The Rambo board easily powers the fans without any issues. Currently, one fan is installed - using 100% flow results in a decrease in extruder temperature from 225°C to 215°C with the stock hot end. Future upgrades may include a different hotend, potentially the E3D V6. No support material was used, as shown in the print orientation on the image. Design Process: I utilized the original fan shroud's front side and added a custom fan adapter from RUNDA ELECTRICS Co. LTD., model DC12V / 0.23A, ordered from 3DWare.ch. The design was created using Autodesk Fusion 360, with assistance from Meshmixer for simplifying the original STL model to facilitate conversion into a component.
