Rostock Max v2 Layer Fan Mount
pinshape
Summary This is a custom layer fan mount designed to keep the fan close to the hot end platform due to interference with my enclosure. Simply slide it over a hot end platform tab without any hardware required. I have an E3Dv6 on my printer, which protrudes about 5/8" below the platform tabs. This mount goes 1/2" below the tab it mounts on at a 20° angle to the hot end. It flows a good stream of air and I keep the fan at 80% because excessive airflow would interfere with the nozzle's temperature. A step file is included for modification according to your setup. Print Settings Printer Brand: SeeMeCNC Printer: Rostock MAX Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: .25mm Infill: 25% Notes: I recommend using ABS and scaled the print to 102% due to shrinkage. It was printed with supports only inside the fan pocket and the overhang, but not on the interior cavity as they would be difficult to remove. Printing it on its side might work with bridging the cavity, however the fan pocket will still require support.
