Mounting bracket for using geared extruder (Namely this one: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:18379/) on Rostock Max v2. Original EZStruder had problems with lost steps at high extrusion rates. I also added modified 5mm longer guidler because original screws kept slipping off after some time printing. Post-Printing Cutting M5 thread After printing main body, get a 4.2mm drill bit and cut about 8mm into the bottom filament hole. Now use an M5 tap to cut required threads for pneumatic push in fitting to carry PTFE-Bowden-Tubing. How I Designed This Designed with Autodesk Fusion 360. This was my first design in Autodesk Fusion 360 (ADF360). At first, I downloaded open source laser cut files from SeeMeCNC's GitHub repository: https://github.com/seemecnc/RostockMAXv2/tree/master/CAD_FILES/Lasercut%20Files/REV1. From here, I was able to import .dxf file, turn it into a sketch, and extrude it. Now I got the .stl of the main body of Greg's Wade's Reloaded extruder: http://www.thingiverse.com/download:63661. In ADF360, I transformed mesh into solid by clicking on "mesh to BRep." Afterwards, I inserted a random Nema 17 from GrabCAD into the assembly. Here I arranged everything in 3D using joints where possible. Now began fun part all I had to do was project corners and planes into a new component, extrude and refine it. It took me 6h to make this little bracket but I never really worked with ADF360 before the joints part alone took me an hour to understand. I'm convinced that I could do the part again in less than an hour. ADF360 is really awesome and you should give it a try for hobbyist, it's free so check it out. Custom Section Extruder Settings I changed the following: -Acceleration from: 6500 to 750 mm/s squared (polar moment of inertia is way higher now) -Steps/mm from: 92.3 to 868 (did fit my hobbed bolt, your settings may vary) Retractions are still a problem I get lost steps at speeds higher than 23mm/s but these settings work reasonably well for the moment: Speed: 23 mm/s Distance: 4.5 mm
