This is a redesign of my friend Dave's original design. You can find the original design on Thingiverse at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2294232. I created this design specifically for the E3D Hotend with Volcano to build a compact end effector that accepts two 30mm squirrel cage layer fans. The purpose of this EF is to enable full travel with an enclosure that isn't possible with SeeMeCNC-style layer fans of any type. The enclosure is pretty tight around the outside of the print area, and it requires a compact EF to be able to print across the entire bed surface. Cooling is ducted inside the hollow EF body to 6 ducts that vent directly toward the hotend tip. This setup allows for efficient heat dissipation and helps prevent overheating during long printing sessions.
