Rosette Window Cookie Impression/Cutter
thingiverse
This is an original design I came up with for a Subtlety competition. To make it work, you can apply it as an impression or circular mold to a cookie-like gingerbread and then carefully cut it out using a needle tool. Alternatively, you might be able to use it as a cookie cutter if you make the mold slightly slippery. For the stained glass effect, place the cookie on a silicone baking mat. In a separate container, mix together 1 part water, 1 part corn syrup or Karo, and 2 parts granulated sugar. Add a small amount of cream of tartar and a few drops of food coloring to taste. A candy thermometer will come in handy here. Slowly bring the mixture up to the Hard Crack temperature, then use small scoops (about 1/8 teaspoon each) to transfer it onto your cookie.
