A remarkably well-preserved Bronze Age burial cist has been discovered at Tappoch, situated on the Westbank of Roseisle in Moray, Scotland. In 1985, archaeologists unearthed this ancient relic and it is now proudly displayed within the Elgin Museum for the public to marvel at. The skeletal remains found within are those of an exceptionally tall male, estimated to be approximately 45 years old when he passed away around 2000 BC. According to radiocarbon dating results, this individual was a member of the Bronze Age community that thrived in this region over four millennia ago. More information about the cist can be found on the Moray SMR website at goo.gl/0LIccz. Unfortunately, my initial recording attempt was hindered by some difficulties with light reflections and distortions caused by the perspex cover still being in place. A return visit is planned to rectify this issue and create a more accurate record of the cist.
