Rosedale powder stores

The remnants of a once-thriving explosives depot at Rosedale East Mines remain standing, though largely hollowed out. A main gunpowder store would have been situated on the left side, shielded by earthen banks to mitigate any potential explosion's impact. On the opposite side, the crumbling remains of an office building still bear witness to a bygone era, where miners once purchased their daily supply of gunpowder and candles before embarking on their perilous shifts deep within the mines. The original vaulted brick roof of this structure is now visible in the accompanying photograph below.
