These are designed with a permanently attached knotted rope on the back side that gets wrapped around a bar, securing it in place through the hole at the bottom. The teeth hold the rope tightly. The rope used is 3/8" cotton thread. We use these for various tasks such as cinching up coffee bags and holding down film equipment like bounce boards. Don't use this for climbing or anything life-threatening. It will break, and I don't want anyone to get hurt.
