Roots Blower
thingiverse
A Roots Blower is an air pump featuring uniquely shaped rotors used in automotive superchargers and high-vacuum pumps. For further information about this type of supercharger, visit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roots_type_supercharger. As a Public Domain OpenSCAD file, it serves as an example of the mechanism's functionality rather than being a practical pump. The code utilized in the design is borrowed from Leemon Baird's PublicDomainGearV1.1.scad, available at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5505. To download and visualize the file, use OpenSCAD or print it as an STL. However, be advised that the blower depicted in the gif has twisted rotors (one left and one right), which OpenSCAD can display but not render due to current coding limitations. The non-twisted rotor design renders correctly.
With this file you will be able to print Roots Blower with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Roots Blower.
