Root is an educational robot that can drive on whiteboards. Equipped with a plethora of sensors, markers for drawing and an eraser designed specifically for whiteboards, Root's features are already impressive. To further enhance user interaction, add-ons such as ramps, buckets, push bumpers, and more can be attached in various ways to accommodate different challenges. Two sets of parts are available: one set utilizes snap features compatible with well-calibrated printers, eliminating the need for hardware attachment; another set uses screws that can be sourced from McMaster Carr under part number 93406A193. To get Root started, visit Kickstarter at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1509453982/root-a-robot-to-teach-coding?ref=discovery. For more information on the coding robot, explore http://www.codewithroot.com/. Print Settings: Infill: 25% Notes: Ensure parts lay flat on the print bed for optimal results. Well-calibrated machines can use snap-feature parts without additional hardware attachment. However, snap features are small and may wear out over time. To compensate, models with small screw holes are included for use with large headed #8 x 3/8" truss tapping screws (McMaster Carr part Number: 93406A193). Depending on the printer used, a raft may be beneficial. Overview and Background: Lesson Plan and Activity
