Root Propagation ball
thingiverse
I came across an ad for a root propagation sphere and after conducting research on 3D printable versions, I found that most designs required support material or featured interlocking ridges that made them difficult to print. I decided to create my own design that could be printed without supports. Print the file twice. Remove a ring of bark from a branch up to 20mm in diameter. Fill each half of the print with the desired growing medium and secure around the stripped branch using zip ties or bolts up to 6mm, preferably stainless steel. Once roots have formed in the soil, trim off the branch, remove the sphere, and plant it directly into the ground.
