Root 3 y-Axis Leadscrew
thingiverse
Today, I embarked on a project that's been itching to get done for a long time now. I replaced my Y-Axis belt with a LeadScrew, a change I'd been considering for ages. Until today, I was using NEMA 17 motors on all axes. To boost torque, I swapped the pulley and have been thrilled with the extra power from this tiny motor. However, I've always sensed that a LeadScrew would be even better - more precise and more powerful. I'd had a LeadScrew and a NEMA 23 lying around for months, just waiting to be used. It dawned on me that all I needed were two small custom parts. So, I started designing them, and this is the result. I'm absolutely delighted with how it's turned out - the power and precision are fantastic, and no other parts need adjusting.
