Root 3 Lite - drag knife mount
thingiverse
This is a spring-loaded mount I designed to utilize my CNC machine as a 2D cutter. Specifically crafted to fit perfectly on the Root 3 Lite CNC, you can easily modify the file `lock_10mm.stl` and use it for any generic 52mm spindle clamp. I'm uncertain if it fits the Roland drag knife but assume it should if it has the same diameter as Graphtec CB09 drag knives. Keep in mind that this tool requires using a base plate at least 1cm thick. If you don't want to use a base plate, cut the rods at least 10mm longer than I did, though be warned that doing so reduces both Z travel distance and overall rigidity of the tool. You decide. I'm opting for a base plate anyway since I don't want to risk damaging the wasteboard. Of course, I've also included the Fusion360 source file in case you wish to edit components. Although I can't guarantee it's fully parametric or without issues since I'm still learning the software, it's better than editing STL files nonetheless.
