Roomba Cliff Sensor Cap
thingiverse
This is a Custom Cap for Roomba Cliff Sensors, designed to disable the sensor's function. This modification prevents Roomba from getting stuck on dark-colored carpets. **Warning: Be cautious - with this modification, Roomba may not stop on stairs or ledges, increasing the risk of damage or injury.** I have successfully tested this cap on a Roomba 671 model and believe it should be compatible with other Roomba models as well. To create this cap, you will need to print four identical pieces using the "Detect thin wall" feature and set the seam position to random. This is because one-perimeter prints require this setting for optimal results. The design has been updated to version 6 after identifying a problem that caused earlier versions to malfunction. Specifically, the Roomba's front bumper would press against the cap and cause it to detach. To resolve this issue, I simply trimmed off 2 millimeters from the front of the design.
