I remade the top cover of the model to support irobot battery BMS that you can find on Aliexpress. The changes include top clips and contact holes. I haven't seen any problems with that BMS and voltages seem balanced but your mileage may warry. Batteries need to be as compact as possible, so there isn't any problems with clearance. I glued the BMS in place with superglue. The same goes for the top spacer. The spacer is more of a design aesthetic than anything. Batteries used are Li-Ion, eight pieces, just like other Li-ion batteries.
