I was constructing a shed in my backyard and required marking the 2 x 4's to create rafters, which is essential for indicating the notch where the rafters rest on the wall. This technique is particularly useful for a roof with a 6/12 pitch ratio. Calculating the angle, I found it to be approximately 26.5 degrees. The method proved to be effective. Various saws can be used, and I opted for a jigsaw to cut the notches and a miter saw for trimming the ends of the rafters.
