Over the weekend, we tested a kayak/canoe trailer featuring sturdy 1 1/4" aluminum tubes. However, the canoes tended to slide sideways. To rectify this issue, I utilized brackets designed for horizontal tubes. These brackets significantly reduce side-to-side motion. In the past, a Yakima roof rack with gunwale brackets amazed me with its improvement. For installation, print 4 copies of the sizing template, slide onto the tubes, adjust to fit your canoe, and tighten for secure transportation.
