Roof Adaptor For OpenLock
thingiverse
I've been searching for a way to create more intricate roofs using the OpenLock System so I designed this little adaptor. It features a small nub that snaps into place to simplify construction, but don't let that fool you - they are meant to be snug fits. This adaptor has been tested with the slate roofs from Printable Scenery as shown. December 28th Update I added extended adaptors with more length at one end, which solved a minor aesthetic problem I was having. I also realized this could be a convenient place to hang objects like signs, ropes, pulleys, banners, and more. So, I created a quick proof of concept for an inn sign. It's basic and needs a wood texture, so it's more of a template than a finished product. Have fun with it! I might add textures to these parts later, but it's likely Printable Scenery will create something official or someone else will remix these parts before I get the chance. This is all about supporting and expanding the great OpenLock system. If you're not familiar with Printable Scenery or the other companies that support this standard, be sure to check them out. Printable Scenery makes amazing stuff! ***Note*** On this early version of the inn sign, you'll need to drill out the holes slightly. I didn't bother gluing on the caps, instead melting the ends a bit once the hooks were fed through the holes.
