Roman Writing Stylus

Roman Writing Stylus

thingiverse

This is a replica Roman-style wax tablet originally made of wood, sometimes featuring inner leaves as well. The Tablet can be printed twice and bound together separately, but they are not printed simultaneously - this method proves more useful. It can be used as a fun pocket-sized tablet or a unique item for history enthusiasts to own! (Keep in mind that it is quite small: each tablet is slightly larger than a standard playing card) Printer Settings: Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer Model: MakerBot Replicator (5th Generation) Rafts: Yes Supports: No Notes: I prefer using rafts for a cleaner surface at the end; they are optional. All other settings were printed as usual. Post-Printing Options: If desired, you can apply Gesso and paint with acrylic to give it a wood-like appearance (or simply print with brown ink), bind the two tablets together with twine or leather, fill in with wax (I use beeswax), and then practice your Latin! (Or not.)
