The 33m long model replicates a typical Roman war ship, with original paint and mosaics found in Pompeii, Italy, and museums like the Bardo in Tunis. Used during the Republican and Empire periods from centuries before to after J.C., these ships were powered by one or two sails and around 40 oarsmen. Rowers, often slaves or captives, sat on two layers with side boxes for oars due to the ship's narrow width. The small size was compensated by a strong oars team that provided high speed. Equipped with a mobile bridge, hooks for enemy vessels, and a powerful submerged bronze rostrum, the ship had rudders on each side and a wooden anchor with lead counterweights. A model version includes interior details, while a simpler version without interiors is planned for gaming purposes. The site also features a larger Roman ship, the Trireme. Textures can be replaced with flat colors to reduce file size; individual texture sizes range from 21kb to 6Mb.
