The scan was facilitated by Protospace Utrecht and Ultimaker for the "Digitale kunstroof" project. The statue is on display at the Central Museum of Utrecht. Further details about the project can be accessed here: http://kunstroof.setup.nl/. Discovered in Vechten, Netherlands, the slave's head contains a loose small stone or piece of clay, making it possible that it was used as a rattle to ward off misfortune. The gaelic cloak may also indicate the Genius cuculatus, a companion of Aesculapius, suggesting that it could have had healing properties.
