Little pot from a Roman villa of S. Cucufate, Alentejo, Portugal, dating back to the High Roman Empire, roughly between 1st century AD and 2nd century AD. This piece is a perfect example of Roman common-ware pottery, characterized by its narrow, flat foot and fairly wide spherical body that gradually narrows towards the small, outward-facing edge. Measuring 6.6 cm in height and 5.3 cm in diameter, this specimen stands out for its unique proportions. Currently on display at the permanent exhibition of the museum of S. Cucufate, located in Vila de Frades, Vidigueira, this remarkable piece is cataloged as number CUC. 80 839. Using advanced Reality Capture technology, a detailed model was created from no less than 643 photographs. According to VAZ PINTO's groundbreaking research published in 2003, the common pottery found at Roman villas such as São Cucufate provides valuable insights into the daily lives of ancient Romans.
