Roman marble sculpture (female bust), Evora
sketchfab
Roman marble sculpture crafted in the 2nd century A.D. depicts a female bust with an intricate coiffure. Despite uncertainty surrounding her identity, some researchers speculate that it might be a representation of Faustina Maior (wife to Emperor Antonino Pio, 2nd century). Regardless, the portrait's elegance and craftsmanship unmistakably attest to its subject being from high Roman nobility. Currently housed in the Frei Manuel do Cenáculo National Museum (Évora, Portugal), Catalog No. ME1711. Cited Sources: ALARCÃO, Jorge de; Jeannette U.
