Cup from Roman villa of S. Cucufate in Alentejo, Portugal, dating back to the High Roman Empire, 1st century AD. It was imported during the Flavian dynasty, between 69 and 96 AD, making it a contemporary piece of the first occupation of the villa. This type of pottery was used for serving and consuming food. Measuring 10.8 cm in height and 25 cm in diameter, this specimen is now showcased in the permanent exhibition at the S. Cucufate Museum in Vila de Frades, Vidigueira. Catalog Number: CUC. 83 3708.
