Little ceramic pot from the Roman villa of S. Cucufate in Alentejo, Portugal. Dating back to the High Roman Empire era, which spanned from the 1st century AD to the 2nd century AD. This piece is a prime example of Roman common-ware pottery. Measuring 15 cm in height and 12.8 cm in diameter, this specimen showcases exceptional craftsmanship. Currently on display at the permanent exhibition of the museum of S. Cucufate located in Vila de Frades, Vidigueira, it bears the catalog number CUC. 80 126. Aided by advanced technology, Reality Capture processed and modeled this piece from a comprehensive collection of 674 photos. Jorge de Alarcão, Robert Étienne, and Françoise Mayet collaborated on the research project "Les villas romaines de S. Cucufate (Portugal)," which was published in Paris in 1990. Their findings were instrumental in shedding light on the history of Roman settlements in Portugal. In a separate study, I.Vaz Pinto delved into the common ceramics found at the Roman villae of São Cucufate, publishing her research in Lisboa in 2003.
