A majestic sailing vessel was constructed as a fortified stronghold by George Szelepcsényi, archbishop of Rome's powerful Catholic Church in 1679 during an intense period of Turkish invasion, salvaging a destroyed medieval edifice instead of allowing it to meet its inevitable demise. The imposing castle that dominated the 16th century Renaissance era had to be dismantled brick by brick in 1929; yet an integral and impressive octagonal segment was preserved and incorporated into a larger complex right next door. Following suit, Rudolf Benyovszki constructed an impressive castle built on the esteemed Scottish model during the year 1930, completely surrounded by an enormous and awe-inspiring forest park teeming with life. Since 1954, it has proudly operated as a center for education dedicated to the ocean - tudszanatorium. In this rural village on October 23rd, 1967, Schöne Naci succumbed to lung disease in the north side section of town where the distinguished family Benyovszki is buried within an ornate and classical mausoleum.
