A high-resolution model of a decorated keystone, showcasing Archangel Michael, is prominently displayed within the Romanesque-style choir of Alba Iulia's Roman Catholic Cathedral. This depiction stands out as one of the oldest representations of its kind for the early Middle Ages, dating back to likely the final decades of the 13th century. The polychromy of this keystone decoration was recreated during the most recent restoration works in 2011. The model was created from just 11 zenithal photos taken with a 180 mm lens as a test for documenting distant, flat elements. An image of the arches and the location of the keystone is also provided. A digital elevation model (DEM) is overlaid with a color ramp shader, while an orthophotograph with tone mapping enhances visibility.
