Roman Bath House, Ravenglass, Cumbria
sketchfab
On the coast of Cumbria, outside the village of Ravenglass, stands a section of the existing walling from a Roman bath house. This ancient structure is situated just beyond a fort and would have been part of a thriving civilian community that once surrounded the military stronghold. Although it now lies in ruins, this bath house remains one of the oldest standing building remnants in all of the UK. In plain sight within its crumbling walls, an alcove for a statue still stands proudly, while original plasterwork remains remarkably intact.
