Roloc compatible 2" arbor
thingiverse
This is a 2-inch arbor for an angle die grinder designed to hold 3M ROLOC or similar finishing wheels securely in place. You could even add Velcro to it and use it for sandpaper as well, making it an incredibly versatile tool. The arbor features a 1/4 inch female thread that fits perfectly onto a 1/4 NC - 20TPI bolt. Choose one that is exactly 2 inches long and then cut the head off the bolt, filing it smooth until it's ready for use. This bolt will serve as the metal shaft that goes into the angle grinder or any other power tool you have at your disposal. To assemble the arbor, simply place a locking nut against the end of the thread, tighten it securely, and then spin on the plastic arbor, making sure to lock it in place with the nut. Sometimes, you may need to clean up the hole with a tap before the threads are clean enough for the roloc disc to fit snugly. For printing purposes, use 50 perimeters and solid infill for maximum durability. I used PETG material and after several hours of use, it still feels incredibly solid. In contrast, when I printed this arbor with typical 20% infill and just a few perimeters, it broke apart after only a few minutes of use, which is why I highly recommend using solid or very strong prints. Please note that this is a power tool, so use it at your own risk. Always wear safety goggles to protect your eyes, and hearing protection to shield yourself from the loud noise of the angle die grinder. If you notice any signs of wear and tear on the arbor, simply throw it out and print another one. If there are people interested in a M6 metric solution instead of 1/4 inch imperial, I could potentially upload that design for you as well. I would like to extend my gratitude to NPN for creating the original 3M ROLOC design. Their work made it incredibly easy for me to create this remix and share it with everyone.
