Rolling Snail Toy

Rolling Snail Toy

thingiverse

This wooden toy resembles a snail as you drag it along the ground; the body "creeps" across the floor. The head, two segments, and tail are printed in color A (25% infill, 1 shell raft), while pins require 80% infill and 1 shell. LH and RH wheels should be printed in color B (30% infill, 1 shell). Eyes and stalk-pins also require 80% infill and 1 shell raft. Before assembly, remove the small built-in raft from the head segment. If encountering adhesion or warping issues, consider profile modifications suggested in this blog entry: http://www.txoof.com/2012/04/makerbot-getting-better-adhesion.html. Press fit smaller pins into segments and heads, ensuring the unattractive parts are on the bottom. Use glue for the large pin holding wheels together and eye stalks. If wheels don't roll easily, add electrical or vinyl tape around them for friction. Future improvements include better traction wheels.
