Rolling Pin Spacer Set
cults3d
I am sharing a set of precision-made rolling pin spacers designed to ensure evenly thick dough for my 54.25mm rolling pin. These spacers fit securely by pressure on each end due to their snug fit. I created these using a brim, which added a slight bit of thickness to the ring that can be easily shaved off to account for any variations in thickness of the pin. Included are three versions - 1/8", 1/4" and 1/2" - to accommodate different thicknesses. The text is recessed into one side of each spacer. These spacers were printed slowly using PETG, which took approximately 90 minutes per piece. The numbers on the spacers were filled with nail polish, and then the flat surface was wiped clean with acetone. If you attempt this technique, be sure to test your plastic's compatibility with acetone beforehand by applying it to a small area of your model. Acetone can melt ABS plastics, and while it is not supposed to damage PLA, I have ruined a piece in the past when it leeched the color out of it.
