Rollercoaster
thingiverse
This is a design for the esso design challenge on my mini factory. A rollercoaster that can be built with 250ml drinking cans in combination with 3D printing. For a working view, see the YouTube link: https://youtu.be/6ZWX5sUdo2A. Start by printing the track and can connectors. Build everything together and then use a 3mm filament for the rail. It will click into the rail parts easily. The rail is connected with adjustable parts that ensure proper alignment. The cars are jointed together using car-to-car connectors. Place these on the bearings at the top of the track, leaving enough room for movement as the cars travel down the track. I used M5 and M8 bolts, nuts, and spacer rings in my design. The 608zz bearings require M8 and spacer ring attachments, while other connections use M5 components. For optimal print quality and fit, I recommend a nozzle size of .35 and a two-layer height setting. This ensures a smooth, precise finish. The track can be customized with various lengths, including the flexible part three, which allows for easy twisting and cutting to the desired length. Track parts slide together with minimal pressure, designed to fit snugly. You may need to sand them down slightly for a secure connection. I've included pictures to demonstrate how all the components come together. Enjoy printing and building your own rollercoaster!
