I built a custom helper tool to ensure accurate installation of the motor mount plate on my roller shutters. This tool centers the new mounting plate within the housing of the shutter. In my setup, the gearbox is round but the new plate isn't. So I marked its position with a pencil before removal (see images). Next, I inserted the tool into the circle and drilled four holes. After removing the adapter, I was able to mount the plate 100% correctly without needing the adapter.
