Roller hold down straps for the "Filler" customizable filament roller
thingiverse
After using a really nice but somewhat troublesome filament roller, https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3020026, which works great but with my clumsy hands, almost every time I changed the filament reel, I'd knock the roller out of its holder, sending the roller and bearings flying everywhere. It was a major headache to keep picking them up off the floor and putting the bearings back on the roller before reassembling things to change the filament reel. This morning I had enough and designed a hold-down strap that's just wide enough and thick enough to hold down the bearings on each end, keeping them firmly in place. The construction is simple: you'll need two M4 X 38 screws and matching nuts (Ny-Lok preferred) as well as a 9/64 drill bit to drill the holes for the screws. The main picture shows a pair of straps in place on the "Filler" assembly I used to print them.
