Roller for Plastic Storage Tub
thingiverse
A compact wheel for a plastic storage container, perfect for stashing under beds or in closets. The original factory-molded piece is on the left, while its 3D printed counterpart sits proudly to the right. This design comes in two parts that effortlessly snap together. Print Settings: * Printer Brand: Ultimaker * Printer Model: Ultimaker 2 * Rafts: Disabled * Supports: Disabled * Resolution: 200 microns * Infill Percentage: 50% * Infill Pattern: Rectilinear Notes: This design requires a bit of assembly, as it prints in two parts that need to be glued together. A gentle sanding of the edges is also recommended. Post-Printing: I sanded the base of the wheel to create a textured surface, then applied a thin layer of quick-setting cyanoacrylate glue to bond the two pieces together. The resulting rolling surface required some additional sanding to ensure smooth operation and eliminate any sharp edges caused by misalignment or warping. How I Created This Design: Using SketchUp as my design tool, I drew a few simple circles and employed the push/pull feature to bring this compact wheel to life.
