A compact wheel for a plastic storage container, typically stored under beds or in closets, is shown. The original factory-molded component is on the left, while the 3D-printed part is on the right in the image. This model prints as two separate parts that need to be glued together. It consists of two parts that must be joined with glue and likely require sanding along the seam. Following printing, smooth the bottom surface to create a textured pattern, then attach the two pieces using a quick-drying adhesive (I found cyanoacrylate worked well on PLA). Finally, refine the rolling surface by sanding it thoroughly to eliminate any sharp edges caused by misalignment or warping of the parts. This design was created using SketchUp: simply draw a few circles and apply the push/pull function with ease.
