Roller blinder motor holder for windows

thingiverse

This build was inspired by Thingiverse's #2392856. Since my blinds are significantly smaller, hang on the window frame, I wanted to use the existing second holder, so I designed one myself. The spindle is for 17mm blind shafts and is directly driven by a stepper motor (I used the 28BYJ-48 from pgotes build). The stepper motor is attached with two small 3mm screws and nuts. The design of the star is somewhat unsightly, since I'm also new to CAD design and that was the best I could do. Fits perfectly, although I'm still in the building phase for the rest. My plan is to use one ESP32 / ESP8266 to control three blinds directly next to each other, with a button or so for direct control. As for software, I will give ESPHome a try (mentioned Thingiverse's #3788157/comments), which should allow multiple steppers and integrates nicely in Home Assistant.
