After searching Thingiverse for ideas and cloth like prints, I settled on FlexMesh 2.1. Changes I've made are 1. Added some material to the square/quad piece to better fill in the corners where the square pieces meet. 2. Made a split connector hub to fill in the blanks along the edges of the board. I also glued together two halves of different colors to connect the squares without the stitched together look of using a one color connector. One of the pictures shows two squares made using standard pieces and two squares made using modified pieces for comparison. 3. Scaled the pieces to 75% for smaller "pixelation". That was as small as I could go and get the pieces to connect together reliably as well as being about the smallest I could see and manipulate to be able to glue them together. The pieces were glued together using CA glue (Super Glue, Crazy Glue etc.) The board is approx 450mm square, each square is approx. 56mm x 56mm. There are 9 quad pieces (576 total), 12 sub connectors (768 total) and 12 split subs (768 total) for each square. This was quite a project with a lot of gluing and assembly.
