In decoupled suspension, the roll spring has a tendency to compress when the car rolls in one direction and a tendency to elongate when the car rolls in the other direction. However, compression springs are mostly used and it is not possible for them to elongate. This mechanism allows the springs to compress in both conditions i.e., the springs would compress even when they have a tendency to elongate as a result of this mechanism
