Edited on November 15, 2012: I am proud that the Winter 2013 Make: 3D Printer Buyers Guide featured the Roll-A-Hedgehog (seen on pages 20 and 21). However, I strongly advise against using this toy for infants unless you are closely supervising. The body, if printed without scaling, might be a choking hazard due to its size. The wheels/axles, on the other hand, could easily become choking hazards if they break. Although I haven't experienced any breaks yet, it is still possible: that's a cross-layer feature. A simple hedgehog toy that rolls along! Thank you to everyone who test printed before I had a chance to do so. Your feedback helped me create a perfect print for this little guy. By the way, the hedgehog profile was inspired by a wooden ramp walking hedgehog my parents bought during a trip to the Czech Republic. I'd love to make that printable too! Ready to play? Print away! I printed mine without acceleration, 15% fill, and no extra shells. Reducing the fill percentage would still result in a sturdy toy. Note that my rendering may be misleading; this is not set up for dual extrusion yet. Perhaps with the right software, you could extract the bodies and save them separately? Be cautious when preserving the exterior surface finish as well. At this scale (approximately 44mm long), there's a consistent 0.7mm gap between the wheels and the body. Any surface artifacts or blobbing may cause the toy to bridge that gap. Increasing the size using the scale function will proportionally increase this gap, but he won't be as cute.
