Rolex TwinLock Waterproofing Mechanism DeskModel
thingiverse
I am very much an amateur watchmaker. I am obviously not the original creator of this mechanism nor am I associated with Rolex in any capacity. I just saw a photo of a waterproofing mechanism used by Rolex and wanted to recreate it to see for myself how it works and how it might be improved. Due to issues I'm having with my printer I haven't been able to print the full model myself, but I have printed the threads to ensure they do mesh properly. If anyone does choose to print this for themselves I would love to see how it went! If you have any questions about this model, how it works, or need the parts modified at all, feel free to shoot me a message! I don't always see messages sent in Thingiverse so the best way to reach me is on Discord. Username: mr.roomba PS. Big thanks to Drazer who showed me what the actual mechanism looked like, which allowed me to more accurately depict how the mechanism moves. To make the spring for this I recommend either using a pre-made compression spring from eBay or something like that. Alternatively, you can do what McLeach did and just heat-up wrap some unused filament around a pipe, and create a spring out of that!
