This adaptor works only on camera bodies with aps-c or "cropped" sensors, not full frame sensors as the adaptor ring will appear in the field of view. I tried it on a full frame and got a black circle covering 20% of my photos. This is a filter adaptor ring for the Rokinon/Samyang 14mm ultra wide angle lens. It allows you to use 95mm threaded filters like a circular polarizing filter, Neutral density filter, or other types of filters on this fixed hood lens. There are no threads on this STL model. A 95mm UV filter is pressed into the top of the adaptor ring. The UV filter acts as the master threads to screw other filters to. To print: Print in black Makergeeks Raptor PLA at 245ºC since it can resist high temperatures. Use black or extremely opaque filament, you don't want any light entering through the sides of the print. Use 4 shells to strengthen the thin feature at the top. No supports are needed as all angles are at 45º. Use a thicker layer height like .2mm to create ridges on the inside of the adaptor that help trap and deflect light. You will also need: A 95mm UV filter. I designed this around a ProOPTIC 95mm UV filter for a nice snug fit, so consider any other brand UV filter untested. Other brands may have a slightly different outer diameter of the filter ring and my not fit with the adaptor I made. I recommend the ProOPTIC 95mm filter kit that comes with a UV, circular polarizing, and ND filters. It's a great kit at a good price and can be found on Amazon and Adorama. To assemble: Gently press the 95mm UV filter into the top flange of the adaptor ring with the female threads facing out. Then slide the adaptor ring over the fixed lens hood of the lens. Slide the adaptor down until the lens hood makes contact with the UV filter. The UV filter should rest directly on the lens hood of the lens as shown in the pictures. It's a simple design, so you can easily create your own model in Fusion360 to fit your needs if you want to adapt another filter ring diameter.
